Battery & Charging
The BlueAnt Pump Air Ultra uses rechargeable batteries in both the earbuds and the charging case, allowing you to recharge the earbuds between uses.
Battery performance varies depending on listening volume and whether Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) or Transparency mode is enabled.
Charging the earbuds
Place both earbuds into the charging case
Ensure each earbud is seated correctly on the charging contacts
If charging does not begin, confirm any protective film or paper tags covering the charging contacts have been removed
Charging begins automatically when the case has power
Earbuds power off and recharge when placed in the case
Earbuds take approximately 2 hours for a full charge
Charging the case
You can charge the Pump Air Ultra case using:
The supplied USB-C charging cable, or
A compatible Qi wireless charging pad
The charging case takes approximately 2 hours for a full charge
A fully charged case can recharge the earbuds up to 4 times
The charging case has 4 LED lights to indicate battery level:
1 light = 25%
2 lights = 50%
3 lights = 75%
4 lights = 100%
The LEDs turn off once fully charged.
You can press the button on the charging case at any time to check the current battery level.
Battery behaviour
Higher volume levels reduce listening time
ANC and Transparency modes increase power usage
Call usage consumes additional battery
Removing earbuds from the case powers them on automatically
Returning earbuds to the case powers them off and begins charging
Each earbud has a light that stays on while it is charging and turns off once that earbud is fully charged
The left and right earbuds may charge at slightly different rates, which is normal and does not indicate a fault
Charging tips
Fully charge the case before extended use
Keep charging contacts clean and dry
Ensure the case lid is fully closed during charging
Use only a 5V/1A charger, as specified in the user manual. Higher-output or fast-charging adapters can damage the case and are not covered under warranty
Important notes
Battery life figures are approximate
Wireless charging speed may differ from wired charging
The charging case must have power to recharge the earbuds
The charging case is not water resistant and should be kept dry
If the issue continues after trying these steps, let me know what’s happening and I’ll guide you through the next steps

Listening Modes
The BlueAnt Pump Air Ultra includes both Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and Transparency mode, allowing you to control how much of your surroundings you hear while listening.
These listening modes are designed to help you switch between focused listening and environmental awareness, depending on your situation.
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
ANC reduces consistent background noise such as:
Traffic and road noise
Engine hum
Air conditioning or crowd ambience
ANC is ideal for:
Travel and commuting
Busy offices or public spaces
Focused listening environments
ANC works best when:
The earbuds are fitted securely
A proper seal is achieved using the correct ComfortSeal™ ear tip size
Background noise is steady and continuous
ANC is enabled by default when the earbuds are powered on.
Transparency mode
Transparency mode allows outside sound to pass through the earbuds while you continue listening.
This is useful for:
Conversations
Public transport announcements
Situational awareness while walking
Transparency mode does not amplify sound - it simply allows environmental audio to be heard naturally.
Switching between modes
Single tap the left earbud to toggle between ANC and Transparency
Mode switching happens instantly
Both earbuds must be powered on for full listening mode performance
Important notes
ANC reduces background noise but does not create complete silence
Sudden or sharp noises may still be heard
Strong wind can affect listening performance
ANC and Transparency modes increase battery usage
Listening experience depends on correct fit and seal
If the listening modes aren’t behaving as expected, let me know what’s happening and I’ll guide you through the next steps.
Calls & Microphone
The BlueAnt Pump Air Ultra earbuds include built-in microphones designed for clear hands-free phone calls and online meetings.
They use Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) during calls to help reduce background noise, so your voice is clearer to the person you’re speaking with.
ENC applies only to call audio and is separate from listening modes such as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).
Making and receiving calls
Answer incoming calls using the earbud touch controls
End active calls using the earbud touch controls
The microphone activates automatically during calls
Call behaviour may vary depending on the connected device and app.
Using a single earbud for calls
Either earbud can be used independently
The microphone in the active earbud is used for calls
The unused earbud can be placed back into the charging case
This is useful for maintaining awareness of your surroundings or extending battery usage.
Call quality notes
ENC helps reduce background noise during calls
Very loud environments or strong wind can still affect clarity
A secure ComfortSeal™ ear tip fit improves microphone performance
Call quality depends on the connected device and network conditions
Important notes
ENC is used for call noise reduction only
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) affects what you hear, not what the caller hears
Some apps manage microphone behaviour independently
If call quality still isn’t where it should be, let me know what’s happening and I’ll guide you through the next steps.
Reset & Troubleshooting
If your BlueAnt Pump Air Ultra earbuds won’t connect, keep disconnecting, or only one earbud is working, the steps below can help re-sync the earbuds and return them to pairing mode.
Before You Start
In your phone’s Bluetooth settings, remove/forget “BlueAnt Pump Air Ultra” if it appears
Turn Bluetooth OFF on your phone
Make sure the charging case has power
Reset & Re-Sync (approved steps)
Place both earbuds into the charging case
2. Press and hold the button in the middle of the charging case for about 10 seconds
Release the button when the earbuds flash yellow four times
Remove both earbuds from the charging case
Place the earbuds within 10 cm of each other
Wait about 15 seconds until one earbud flashes red/green (pairing mode)
Turn Bluetooth back ON and select “BlueAnt Pump Air Ultra” from your device list
If you still can’t connect
Repeat the reset steps above from the beginning
Confirm the case has charge and both earbuds are charging when seated in the case
Try pairing to a different phone/tablet to rule out a device-specific Bluetooth issue
When troubleshooting does not resolve the issue
If your Pump Air Ultra earbuds continue experiencing issues after completing all approved reset and troubleshooting steps, this may indicate a hardware fault

FAQs
What are the Pump Air Ultra actually for?
Everyday listening where you want to shut the world out — travel, commuting, the office, focused work. They are premium ANC earbuds with 10mm dynamic drivers, Transparency mode for when you need to hear what is around you, and ENC microphones for hands-free calls. IP54 means sweat and splashes are fine, so they hold up for a workout too.
What is in the box?
- Pump Air Ultra true wireless earbuds
- Charging case (USB-C and Qi wireless charging)
- USB-C charging cable
- ComfortSeal™ ear tips in three sizes (S / M / L)
- Quick start guide and user manual
A wall adapter and a wireless charging pad are not included.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 8 hours from the earbuds on a single charge, and around 40 hours in total with the case, which holds about four more full charges.
Those are typical-use figures. Real battery life moves with volume, listening mode and call time — ANC and Transparency both draw more power, and high volume shortens it further. A voice prompt warns you when roughly 20 minutes of play time is left.
How do I charge them, and how long does it take?
Drop both earbuds into the case and charging starts on its own, as long as the case has power. Earbuds take about 2 hours for a full charge, and so does the case.
Charge the case with the supplied USB-C cable or any Qi-certified wireless pad. Use a standard 5V power source rather than a high-voltage fast charger. The four LEDs on the case show the level — one per 25% — and press the case button any time to check.
What is the difference between ANC and Transparency?
Two modes, one active at a time:
- ANC — cuts steady background noise like traffic, engine hum and air conditioning. On by default when you power on.
- Transparency — lets outside sound through so you can hold a conversation or hear an announcement without taking the earbuds out.
Single tap the left earbud to switch between them. Both modes change what you hear, not how you sound on a call — call noise reduction is handled separately by ENC.
ANC reduces noise, it does not create silence. Sudden sharp sounds and strong wind can still come through.
How do I get the fit right?
Fit is the single biggest thing affecting ANC, bass and call clarity, so it is worth a minute.
- Try all three ComfortSeal™ ear tip sizes and keep the one that seals snugly without pressure
- Insert gently and rotate slightly until the earbud feels secure
- If ANC suddenly feels weaker, recheck the fit before anything else
Do not force the earbuds deep into the ear canal, and replace the tips once they are worn.
Can I use just one earbud?
Yes. Either earbud works on its own — put the other one back in the case and audio and the microphone keep running through the active one. Useful for calls, for staying aware of what is around you, or for stretching battery across a long day.
You need both earbuds for stereo audio and for ANC to perform as intended.
How do I turn them on and off?
They handle it themselves: taking them out of the case powers them on, putting them back powers them off and starts charging. Closing the lid keeps them off.
Without the case: press and hold the button on an earbud for about 2 seconds to power on, or hold the right earbud button for about 6 seconds to power off.
Will they work with my phone or computer?
Yes — iPhone, Android, tablets, Windows and macOS, and anything else supporting standard Bluetooth audio. On iPhone the battery level shows on screen and Siri can be triggered from the earbuds.
On a computer, playback works over Bluetooth; whether the microphone is available depends on your operating system and the app you are using. Some smart TVs and games consoles have limited Bluetooth support, and a little audio delay can show up depending on the device and app.
Can I plug them into a cable?
No. Pump Air Ultra is Bluetooth only — the USB-C port on the case is for charging, not audio.
They keep dropping out, or only one earbud is working. What now?
Re-sync the pair. Forget “BlueAnt Pump Air Ultra” in your phone’s Bluetooth settings and turn Bluetooth off, then:
- Put both earbuds in the case
- Press and hold the case button for about 10 seconds, releasing when the earbuds flash yellow four times
- Take both earbuds out and sit them within 10 cm of each other
- Wait about 15 seconds until one flashes red/green
- Turn Bluetooth back on and select Pump Air Ultra
If it still will not connect, run the reset again, check the case has charge, and try a different phone to rule out a device problem. If none of that helps, get in touch and we will arrange a warranty assessment.
Are the case and earbuds waterproof?
The earbuds are IP54 — sweat and splash resistant, fine for workouts and light rain. The charging case is not water resistant and needs to stay dry.
